To my mother: On her 73rd birthday

Thank you Ma for giving me life,
For choosing together with Pa to have me, your first born
along with my two brothers and sister to be born into the world.

Thank you for caring for us through the years…you and Pa never did stop caring.
Until now, you help me and my own family whenever you can.
For always being there, thank you.

Thank you for giving me freedom to grow, to develop my own identity.
You were always concerned, but never prying.
Thank you for providing us children a loving home, but one we can run free.

Thank you for never giving up on us, Ma.
For never losing hope, when all hope seemed lost.
Thank you for believing in me.

On this wondrous day, as you celebrate your God-given 73rd birthday,
I honor you my mother, surely one of the best mothers a son could have.
