...and then she turned 4!

Our youngest bundle of joy is now 4 years old!

Four summers ago, one of my lifelong dreams was realized…to have a daughter.

After having another important dream which was to have a son fully realized three times over, having Faith was an extra special gift from God.

The more she grows up, the more truth to that previous statement.

She has become increasingly witty, confident and expressively sweet. Sometimes she talks like an adult, like a parent to me and Odette or an older sister to his brothers. Unquestionably bright, she has learned to read early, even earlier than her older brothers. More so, I think she has reached a considerably high level of academic achievement despite the absence of Teacher Pearl’s invaluable instructions as a prep school teacher her three brothers previously enjoyed. I’m not surprised if she’s assessed in Mater Carmeli School to be ready for Kinder this coming school year though her age is really for Nursery level.

Mind you she has also picked up a number of dramatic antics along the way. It’s really up to me and my wife to impress upon her that she couldn’t get her way every time especially if it’s for her good. But tantrums aside, she continues to be an obedient child.

“Papa!” she shouts by our main door as I enter our gate at the end of our long driveway. Her gentle welcome each time my wife and I come home is a soothing cure to the hustle and bustle of everyday work, taking away any tiredness we may have with her warm hugs and infectious smiles.

Definitely, like my other children, my Faith is a gift from God!

Happy birthday, sweet child of mine!
